This glimpse into the MoMA Archives—part of our regular series co-presented with the Museum of Modern Art Archives—unearths a range of fascinating, never-before-published material, from curatorial correspondence to opening-night photographs, related to MoMA’s groundbreaking foray into installation art in 1969.
Michelle Elligott is the Rona Roob Senior Museum Archivist at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Elligott coedited Art in Our Time: A Chronicle of the Museum of Modern Art, cocurated MoMA’s “1969” exhibition, and has published and lectured widely.
