Esopus 10 has shipped to subscribers—depending on your location, you should receive your copy sometime within the next 10 days. (The issue will be on newsstands in mid-May.) Order a single copy or subscribe here.

4/17/08: NEW BACK-ISSUE CONTENT ONLINE
There are now three more articles from sold-out back issues available online: From Esopus 2, Edward McPherson recounts his torturous 10 consecutive viewings of Mystic River in "Ten Rivers to Cross"; from Esopus 3, Andrea Dezsó offers her hauntingly beautiful artist's project "Mamushka"; and from Esopus 4, acclaimed NYC chef Jody Williams brings her experiences of learning to cook in Italy to life in "Cuoca." Check back soon for two more selections, both featuring Esopus "discoveries."

4/11/08: ESOPUS 7 SELLS OUT
As of today, Esopus 7 is sold out. Back issues of Esopus 8 or Esopus 9 are still available here.

3/10/08: 'HOUSES' FOR SALE
Artist and past Esopus contributor Chris Doyle has just announced a new series: “Housing Development Project.” For it, Chris will offer 30 “subscriptions,” each of which entitles purchasers to one new 9” x 9” watercolor house drawing every month for 12 months. Chris has generously offered to donate half of the total cost of each subscription to the Esopus Foundation. Learn more about this amazing offer HERE.

1/21/08: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2007 was a fantastic year for Esopus and the Esopus Foundation, and we have high hopes for 2008. We're currently at work on Esopus 10, due to the printer in mid-March and on newsstands in mid-April, and it's shaping up beautifully. Check back here in February for a sneak preview.

12/20/07: MORE BACK-ISSUE CONTENT ONLINE
Select articles and projects from sold-out back issues are now available online, presented with a custom-designed Flash viewer to approximate the look and feel of the original contributions. The first offerings were from Esopus 1. We've now added three more: "Soft Serve," Daniel T. Neely's fascinating piece about ice-cream truck music in Esopus 4, and two features from Esopus 3: "Home Made," an interview with acclaimed indie band The Wrens, and "Tricks of the Trade," a found object contributed by Michael Rohatyn. Enjoy them!

11/20/07: PHOTOS FROM KITCHEN EVENT
Our second annual "Evening with Esopus" on Tuesday, November 13th, featured a reading by actor/director Tom Gilroy of "A Short Film about Andy Warhol," the unproduced Jim Lyons screenplay published in Esopus 9, and a set of music by Brooklyn musical duo High Places. The evening also included rare screenings of work by Taiwan-based filmmaker Tsai Ming-Liang and conceptual artist Kay Rosen. VIEW PHOTOS HERE

11/18/07: SUPPORT THE CAUSE, GET GREAT ART
We can't offer Esopus at its deeply subsidized cover price without your continued support. Any donation you make to the Esopus Foundation is fully tax-deductable, and will be noted on our Funders page as well as in the magazine. Certain contributions receive a special thank-you: limited-edition multiples by artists who have created projects for past issues. Check out our donation page to learn more.

5/21/07: ESOPUS BASEBALL CAP
Now available for a limited time only: a beautiful navy-blue cotton twill cap with a red Esopus logo. ORDER NOW

5/15/07: ESOPUS 8 LAUNCH PARTY
Our thanks to contributors, readers, and friends of the magazine who came out to celebrate the release of our latest issue at New York City's Center For Architecture on Monday, May 14th. The evening included an extraordinary special performance by Philadelphia-based Headlong Dance Theater, whose article about their groundbreaking 2006 piece Cell appears in the issue. VIEW PHOTOS

"When you feel that your culture is being over-accelerated, there’s a tendency to want to slow things down, to go against that tide. My films have come to seem structurally unique in contrast with what’s going on within most of the culture."
